Located on the left bank of Távora, more specifically in the town of Granjinha, in the municipality of Tabuaço, the estate was part of the heritage of the monastery of S. Pedro das Águias, a place of gathering for the Cistercian monks from Burgundy who led the production of wine in all of medieval Europe.
The property has maintained its wine and agricultural activity uninterruptedly for centuries, as evidenced by the old cellar with three perfectly operational granite presses and the Casa do Azeite, as well as stables, wood oven and warehouse.
Purchased by Magnum-Carlos Lucas Vinhos in 2019, Quinta das Herédias spans a total of 109 hectares, including 30 hectares of vineyards and 35 hectares of olive groves, the rest being occupied by woodland, walnut, holm oak, oak, strawberry trees, hazel and juniper. Orange, almond, cherry and fig trees are also part of the landscape.
