Maria Mora Alentejo

Maria Mora

The county of Mora is considered, since a long time ago a place of tradition in wine production in Alentejo, where viticulture and wine production have always been the main economic activity. The ancient Roman civilization already produced wine here in hoists, large clay amphoras, which are still used nowadays.

The "Maria Mora" is a tribute to the women from Alentejo, reflected in this illustration by Ribeiro Manuel Pavia, neo-realist painter of the early twentieth century, from the county of Mora. This painting represents the female peasants, young and beautiful, working in the hot and quiet Alentejo fields.

Here we produce wines that combine the teachings of the past with our irreverence, giving it a simple and modern profile.
